My family was gathered in the living room glued to our TV set as the Toronto auditions episode of Canadian Idol Season One was airing. I didn't even know if they would air my audition from the 10,000 or so auditioners that lined up that day. As soon as this came on screen, my heart stopped and in an instant I realized that dreams can and do come true. I had prepared my whole life for this mome
